Il Rosa del Garda
A calcareous marble of sedimentary origin, with a heterogeneoous structure, which presents
various types of fossils in its composition.
The color is a speckled pink with white veins and ivory streaks.
The color shades vary from a pale to a darker light pink.
It comes from our quarry, located in Breonio of Fumane, called Rocca di Bera. From its panoramic position one can admire a glimpse of Lake Garda, which the origin of the material's name comes from.
The extraction of this marble of a particularly veined and beautiful shade, found a bountiful demand in the Seventies/Eighties, during which there was a more substantial extraction and distribution.
Aside from floorings, it is also used as a base for statues, pillars, and altars, and it can be found in some castles and churches of Europe.
Still today the material is widespread in France, where it is often used for outdoor walkways of the "Palladian" style.
Today, this material is used less in Italy for numerous reasons.
Above all because there is less of this marble on the market since many quarries have run out of it, and there is bureaucratic difficulty in opening new extraction sites.
Furthermore, it being a veined material, with comparison to other more uniform materials, it calls for a laying executed by expert personnel; however, the result shall certainly be more prestigious for those who seek the exclusivity and refinement of a natural product.
